Ok!! Where to begin!! Blogger has been acting up for a couple of days so I haven't been able to get here, but it appears to be up and running once again!! All my ideas have been building and building in my head, and I havn't been able to share them with the world! I'll probably split this into a couple of posts :) So, without further adieu...
First things first, I GOT MY LAPTOP BACK!!!!! It's amazingly exciting!! hehe back behind my shield and separated from the world!! Well, not really, but it's really nice not to have to walk to Kingsbury every time I wanna use the internet, especially on my crutch!
Second: I downloaded this program that allows me to create my own magic cards! So, as promised, I'm posting the fruits of my Sexy Magic card toils and, more importantly the descriptions behind them :) this is not all of the cards that I've made, but it is a good selection and contains some of my favorites :) I'll post a card and then the description underneath it:
Starting off strong with a nice big Legendary Creature! When I envisioned what white could be, my main thoughts were of Purity and Innocence and, most importantly, Love.
When making my list of 'Creatures that could be considered sexual' Angels were the top of the list for white. First and foremost, because I'm obsessed with angel iconography (not religiously, just the concept of winged humans) And secondly, because they were a humanoid creature that I felt perfectly embodied the concepts I associated with White. So here she is, Cupid herself, firing her arrows that will put enemy creatures in a daze of Love :)

Back! Here we go :)
Blue I envisioned, first and foremost, as playful, almost teasing, also occasionally vaguely manipulative, but never in a cruel or harmful way. Also, most of the colors (except for white) have some kind of fetish associated with them as well, and Blue for me just screamed out voyeurism. I mean, what do you really think all those wizards hunched over their crystal balls (heh) in their towers are staring at all day?
So, when combined with white, what do we have? A teasing, innocent person, one who will 'put on a show' but never 'go all the way'. And that was the inspiration for this card.
Another core concept for this whole series of cards, and what I use to come up with effects for cards, is treating ever conflict between to cards as if it was a sexual encounter, hehe which should add some clarification to some of the cards...
Mermaids were another creature from the list, and to incorporate more from the themes of Blue, I made them all voyeurs :) Both in the card effect and flavor text :)
When working to combine blue (manipulation) and red (lust) my first thought was seduction :) A seducer, someone who can inspire lust, as well as control those around him/her with a word or a gesture... and my attempt to express that in game terms (haste allows a creature to attack and tap the turn it comes into play, rather than having to wait a turn like normal)
I liked the concept so much, I used it as a base for my first ever Planeswalker! Pretty much the same ideas as above :)
My attempt to combine both red (lust) and white (love) resulted in passion :) In game terms First Strike allows a creature to strike first in combat, and Lifelink allows you to gain life for all damage dealt by the creature that has it. I thought that Lifelink, or life gain in general, was very representative of white, as well as fitting well with the overall concept, and when I think of lust I think of clothing being ripped off in a frenzied rush by both parties, hence the First Strike and Haste on a lot of the red cards.
Black is self serving and willing to sacrifice anything, and anyone, in pursuit of it's goals, in this case, sexual gratification. When combined with the vaguely manipulative nature of Blue, it produced a dark sort of Sexual Manipulation, the kind so often seen in unhealthy relationships, a kind of sexual pressure that is extremely difficult to resist or defend against at the best of times... I know I'm not doing a very good job of explaining, read the flavor txt and you'll understand more of what I mean.
The fetish(s) i associated with black were bondage and masochism more than anything else... they seemed to fit the general theme of a willingness to sacrifice, even hurt others in pursuit of sexual gratification. To that end I started to think about 'pleasure out of pain' and how to represent that in game terms... Above 'Defender' means that a creature can't attack, and the cards being drawn whenever the 'defending' creature is dealt damage seemed a good way to represent the masochistic, dominatrix-y side of black.
Yay for the first (half) green card of the day!! I imagined green to be very hippie-esque when it came to lovemaking, very much into 'free love' and promiscuity ;) to that end, many of green's effects revolve around other creatures, or the number of creatures you have in play, or things along those lines :) Heh, just picture a big ol' elven orgy beneath the trees.
Nymphs i pictured as really embodying that teasing nature of Blue, while seductively drawing a number of creatures with their dance or song or beauty, in a very green like fashion :)
And that's the end of the first batch of cards!! Hehe I hope you enjoyed them :) I have several more already made, and more that I have plans for, but if anyone has any Ideas... ;) I worked really hard, not only to have them be representitive of their color in picture/abilities/ and text, but to be fair cards, that could actually be gamed with. I spent long periods of time (i wont say exactly how long, because then I'd get laughed at :P) trying to get the casting costs to represent the creatures effectively, and make the cards as fair as possible :)
So.... that went on for a lot longer than expected :P so as not to make this post stretch on forever, I shall put everything else I wanted to put into this post in... another post!!! I know, how climactic!! So, I shall vanish for now, and return in moments with: 'Bunches of New Stuff! Post 2 of 2!!'
